Day 4 vaping and a history of cannabis use

I suppose after a while this writing topic is going to get old, but it hasn't yet! As my journey with the Rove vape and the Ape strain I am current puffing on continues, I continue to be impressed. Yesterday I tried out its recreational qualities, by which I mean, I wanted to see if I could get solidly stoned as much as I could if I were smoking a joint or hitting a bong. When I got home from work, I reached into my purse and pulled out my little tiny Rove vape pen. I held down the button and decided to try to inhale a vapor cloud as big as my lungs could manage. This proved to be unwise because at the bottom of my drag I started coughing so hard I could barely breath. I had to spit several times and it took almost a full minute for me to recover from the dumb thing I had just done. When I finally stopped coughing I grabbed all my stuff and went inside. By the time I made it to my living room I was honestly as high as I have ever been. Before you go scoffing at me, here is a little background:

I have been an avid consumer of marijuana for over ten years. My mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer when I was just 12 years old. After several rounds of chemo and radiation, she was looking for anything to help relieve the pain and extreme nausea that comes with those horrible, toxic treatments, and she turned to pot to help her, as many cancer patients do. She did not keep it a secret from her family and made sure that as she educated herself, she educated everyone around her too. I didn't begin smoking myself until I was 20 years old, but I did grow up in a drug-positive household and when I was old enough to make my own choices, I did eventually choose to begin using weed recreationally, because what 20 year old has anything serious to smoke about?

I have a small but respectable collection of glassware for my smoking pleasure, I have rolled my fair share of joints, I own more than one bong, and not one, but two flower vaporizers, my favorite of which is the Pax 1. When the Paw first came out, it was the first portable electronic flower vaporizer and it was magical! There is a little oven in the bottom of the device and to switch it on all you had to do was click down on the top, and a little mouthpiece popped up. There were three temperature settings to choose from and a cute little green light came on when it was ready to vape. I took my Pax everywhere. I even crocheted a little purple carrying case for it. But once a load was toasted, the flavor got terrible even before the oven load had lost potency. Additionally, when you switched it off, the little oven still took some time to cool off, so you had the hot metal thing filled with weed, slowly perfuming your clothes, purse or car. I know Pax makes a fine product and they have produced newer, better version of their portable vaporizer over the years, but these products are, for me at least, prohibitively expensive. So, my Pax 1 retained a special place in my heart for its portability and smooth, heady, vape-style high, but eventually when it came to portability, I just went back to carrying an old school dug-out, affectionately known as my "one-hitter-quitter". This was an effective means of portable smokage, but it also had drawbacks. First of all, it is ignition smoking which means actual smoke, which means it isn't exactly discrete. You have to find a place to smoke where the smell won't alert squares to your whereabouts, then you have to hope that your "bat" or "sneaker" isn't clogged with tar, which it almost always instantly is after just one or two uses. A clogged bat needs to be either soaked in rubbing alcohol, or, if you're out in the world, it needs to be scraped out with a tooth pick. So my purse was always filled with tooth picks, which is a nasty thing to get jammed up under your fingernail when you're searching for chapstick. Additionally, scraping out a dugout can often make for a sticky mess, all that tar! And as much as I love weed, I know that smoking so much of something so sticky and filled with so much tar just can't be good for me in the long run, so I quit.

Time went on and eventually an attempt at a career in professional motor sports lead to a high speed boat wreck that changed my life forever. Years of visits to pain management doctors and procedures on my spinal nerves and a knee surgery later, I myself am looking for ways to cope that don't include taking any more fucking Norco, because I gatta say, I really am tired of that stuff. In the time that has passed, the world of medical and legal cannabis has changed a LOT! It is now legal in my home state of Nevada for anyone over the age of 21 to go into a dispensary and purchase flower, extracts, edibles and, yes, Rove vape pens and cartridges which contain highly potent cannabis oil with various concentrations of THC and other substances found inside marijuana. I have returned to the cannabis lifestyle and I may never go back again, because I have not felt this good in YEARS.

And so, back to my living room after testing out my Rove Vape pen for potency. I was melting into my sofa and all the colors in my home seemed both brighter and softer. My mood was awesome, and I had an uncontrollable urge to eat absolutely everything in my house. And then I got the giggles. I popped on some Bob's Burgers (I am a MEGA FAN of that show!) and made myself a massive salad with a salmon fillet and enjoyed the fuck outta myself. My husband laughed at me for getting so high after all my years of experience and I agreed it was kind of ridiculous.

So, I think it is fair to say that the Rove can provide both medicinal relief as well as recreational potency. And the value! The pen itself is just $10! And each cartridge is around $60, which is SO much cheaper than buying flower, or even pre-rolled joints. AND! No tar! No sticky fingers, no harsh aftertaste, just good, tasty, clean vapor that gets the job done reliably, consistently and without failure. I suppose this ought to be my last post on the Rove vape, but no promises!
